Scouts

Who are Scouts?

Scouts are a go-getting group of young people aged 10½ to 14 who:

  • Master new skills and try new things
  • Make new friends
  • Have fun and go on adventures, at home and abroad
  • Explore the world around them
  • Help others and make a difference, in their own communities and beyond

Week in and week out, they gather in groups called Scout Troops to conquer the small task of changing the world.

Troop meetings at 1st Ripley usually last two hours and are held on Fridays 7:30 - 9:30pm during school term time.

When you join Scouts, you’ll be introduced to lots of new activities, people and things.

So jump in and get muddy.  Give back and get set.  Scouts ignore the butterflies and go for it, and soon so will you!

I didn’t know anyone here at first.  A lot of the time I’m just indoors on my Xbox. But when I’m in Scouts, I’m sort of properly out. I’ve been to other clubs and didn’t really like it. Here, though, I really like it.

Put your phone down and what are you left with?  Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.

I thought Scouts was all knots and 'dib-dobbing'.   But my son realy enjoys it and has lots of fun - Climbing was his favourite this year.
